my mom is 80 and has COPD she is slowly worsening.. she is on hospice and they are looking for an alternative to Morphine as Morphine has stopped her hear in the past is Dilaudid a possible substitute ? or would it have a similar effect as the morphine

Diluadid is the brand name of hydromorphone. It can be substituted for morphine. Apart from this she needs frequent nebulization and steroid therapy. Consult a pulmonolgist for better suggestions. thanks
