How Can Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Be Diagnosed?

My younger sister (56, I am 58) has multiple myeloma, in addition to Ehlers-Danlos, fibromyalgia, Reyes Syndrome..... I have always been pretty healthy, although overweight, and she was an exercise addict before the cancer diagnosis. What are the chances I might also have or develop Ehlers-Danlos?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The Ehlers-Danlos syndromes are a group of connective tissue disorders that can be inherited and are varied both in how affect the body and in their genetic causes.

The chances that you maight have this syndrome are low.So don't worry.

Anyway,i suggest to consult a local doctor if you have joints that stretch further than normal, skin that can be stretched further than normal and tissue fragility.

Hope this is helpful.
let me know if i can assist you further.
