You do not have to get depressed, intact that would demoralize you.
just cutting down your diet isn't gonna help much, what you take in the little of what you have is also very important.
2 things that I noticed in your query was that-
1. You said you go down to the gym few days a week... it should be minimum of 5-6 days a week, in the gym you can run on treadmill, cycling, skipping, swimming, push-ups, suryanamaskar, spot jogging, climbing up the stairs.
at least for 60 min...for a beginner or would be a lot so you could begin with 20 min a day and gradually increase by 5 min every 3-5 days.
If you stop exercising for more than 48 hours the good effects of exercising are lost.
2. You said you have cut down alcohol from 7 days a week to weekends- here too the quantity would surely matter, and would be a sin if you continue with carbonated drinks and fried food only on week ends.
I would recommend you properly go to a dietician and get yourself a tailored
diet plan of 1200 kcal-1500 kcal.
To begin your day you could start drinking some room temperature water up to 1-2 liters slowly as that is known to boys the
metabolism.
Flax Seed ground and stored in a airtight container & the powder refrigerated to be consumed with a week also would help you take 2 tsp with plenty of water.
avoid using elevator as much as you can are the other small measures you can take to aid
weight loss.
