How Can Lewy Body Disease Be Treated?

I have been diagnosed with Lewy Body. Is seeing bugs crawling or black spots on the floor that are not there part of this condition and also looking at a clean white sink I see it as what looks like sand lightly in the sink. Where ever I look in the sink it moves with my vision. and something seems to run away in my peripheral vision

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,

These symptoms like seeing bugs or sand while these things are not these could be due to psychotic symptoms of Lewy body dementia. These most likely visual hallucinations and should be evaluated properly.

To reduce the symptoms drugs like anti-psychotics could be used. Haloperidol, Olanzapine, Risperidone etc., can be used to reduce the symptoms and will help you.

Please visit a psychiatrist for help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
