Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m have a three month old who was born premature. I noticed at three months PP that there was a hot pink film in his bottles with my breast milk. Upon further inspection it was on every bottle and pump piece I had. I had a culture run of my breast milk and tested positive for serratia marcescens. I was put on sulfameth/trimethoprim today. My son was also put on this antibiotic. How likely is it that my other son and husband have it? Other than bleaching my entire house, and throwing all bottles and pump away, what can I do? Is this antibiotic strong enough to kick it in ten days? Thanks for listening.
