How Can A Boil In The Intergluteal Cleft Be Treated?
I have a boil in my butt crack and it broke open a week ago and pus has been coming out. But the pus that comes out in that area smells like poop. I try to clean in every 3 hrs. But still when i clean it the next time the pus smells like poop. Why is it so? I have had many boil in my body before but none of the pus smelled bad. This is the first time I have having a broken boil where the pus smells like poop. I am worried. Can u tell me why is it so?
It is possible that there maybe a fistula connecting with the anal passage. If this is present then you need to be seen by your doctor who would refer you to someone for assessment and treatment.
It is very unusual to have multiple boils. If they are in the same area, it means that they are not fully healing. Even if a boil burst, a small amount of pus can remain causing repeat infection. They need to be medically treated.
It may also mean that your skin is colonized by bacteria causing repeated infections.
I hope this helps
