Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been treating a burn wound caused by a motorcycle tailpipe with Silvadene for 5 months now and it is still agitated, itchy and blistering (without production). What more can I do?? I have spent hundreds on guaze and ace bandaging and at my wit s end with this..
I advise to apply aloe vera gel locally. If you find the plant, should take the inner part and apply there. I think the wound might have been infected. Please send a photo to verify this. Wash your wound with warm water and soap.
Rinse well, dry well. Apply antibiotic ointment twice daily. Let one hour. Then apply aloe vera gel twice daily and overnight. Do not cover with band. Let it open.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
General & Family Physician
