Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello am nicholas from uganda. Went for a free circumcision campaign 2 weeks back. Am having a small sticky wound on the left side of my penis. It is pretty painful and taking long to dry out byt others have. How can you help? Secondly can i have normal baths now?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Since you had circumcision 2 weeks back your wound should have been healed long agSticky wound on one side of penis indicate that there may be local infection or scab formation not allowing the healing edges to approximate and this phenomenon is further complicated by morning detection. Hence I would advise you the following: Clean and apply liquid povidone iodine locally. Take a short course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory. Multivitamins and minerals. Ask your Doctor to prescription based Amitriptyline to be taken at bed time avoid erection and thus allow healing properly.
