How Can A Dog Bite Wound Be Treated?

I got bit by a dog a week ago and got my lip stitched up. I got 2 on the inside of the wound which are dissolvable. My other ones were taken out yesterday, but I still see the end of one sticking out. Could they have missed this one or is it a dissolvable one?

Hi i do care for your concern.
It is advisable to take full course of post exposure prophylaxis for rabies.
now regarding the suture.
the external sutures have been removed, the internal one is said to be absorbable.
It will take some where 3weeks to 3months for the substance to get completely dissolved.
If it is bothersome then consult your physician and get removed the small protruding part.
Hope i have answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask.
Thank you.

Hello, Madam
Thanks for the query,
You should not worry, if something has retained there. You need to visit any of the Medico or paramedics to check what is it.
As it is a small piece of remnant any one can take it out if it is not non-absorable. No spacialist is needed for this procedure.
Hope l answered your query.
Regards
Dr Muzaffar.
