How Can A Hip Injury Be Treated?

I fell backing into wooden steps 10 days ago. It was a pretty hard fall. No pain walking. About pain level 4 to 6 when I sit with weight on right hip. There. Is a sore area on the right hip about the size of my hand. Right hip/butt Initial large (3 ) bruise. Became dark purple in a few days. Another area appeared on the.middle lower butt directly above tail bone. No tail bone is not sore. I ve been using ice then heat, Icy Hot, gentle massage and scatching. Should I see a Dr about this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The need to see a doctor would depend on the degree of pain and the presence of any additional symptoms such as numbness, weakness in the legs, tingling or any other abnormal sensations, problem with urination or bowel movements.

If any of these are present or the pain is severe then you should be seen.

In addition to the heat therapy (ice is more commonly used in the initial phase) and rest, you should consider the use of anti inflammatory medication (ibuprofen, naproxen), if you can use these medications

I hope this helps
