How Can A Hole In The Lungs Be Treated?

THANK YOU DR. I am a retired nurse, and my husband has a throat operation 6 months go. Now they found out his problem of swallowing caused a hole in the right side in his lung on that side. Can he get the hole in the lung fixed, so his swallowing will not cause a tube in his chest to eat?

Hi,

The hole is for taking respiration and if want for feeding can Gofornasal by a rhyles tube. Trachea is for taking respiration what have been done is tracheostomy. For feeding it should be through esophagus. They can not function to gather at same time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
