How Can A Locked Knee Caused By Joint Infection Be Treated?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... My granddaughter who is 4 1/2 months old is not bending her one leg, rather she is holding is as if the knee is locked. And, she has a swelling at the top of her leg. The Drs. x-rayed it, but no fracture. However, they think she may have a joint infection. I m worried for her. Any advise to this problem. Thanks,

Hello,

You should get her lab tests as TLC, DLC, CRP, ESR. Also, undergo MRI knee joint. Joint infection or effusion may cause spasm of muscles causing symptoms described by you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
