Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
will a partial tear of bicep tendon at the shoulder heal on its own? It has been 7 weeks since the injury (lifting weights) The pain has gotten much better and I can do all physical therapy w/o pain. But certain movements like reaching above my head the pain comes back. I m a golfer and once I swing above my shoulder height I feel a pinch/pain in my left anterior shoulder region. I received a cortisone shot and it had no effect. I ve also noticed a crack noise every time I do circular warmup stretches with arm out to the side. Doesn t hurt but does make the noise almost every time.
Your symptoms seem to be related to muscle strain. I see that you have already used steroid shots without effect. I would suggest using anti inflammatory medication taken orally. I also suggest using non-inflammatory creams for local application and physical therapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
