How Can A Painful And Swollen Bump On The Nipple Be Treated?

Hi Doctor, I have a bump on the end of my left nipple the other on is fine it doesn t have a white tip like a pimple yet but it just started feeling sore to the touch last night. The bump is hard and very sensitive to the touch I have had to put a bandaid on it to be able to even stand having a shirt or bra on . I am a 53 year old female who has already gone through menopause because of hysterectomy at 25 due to fibroid tumor . Not sure what to do or how to ease redness and swelling along with pain, help

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I think you may be suffering from a pimple or a bacterial infection causing the pain. You should go to surgeon to open and clean it also to use treatment and disinfection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
