How Can A Painful Hairline Fracture Be Treated?

my child is 6.5 month old and had a hairline fracture on femur (knee) 3 days ago. We went to a ortho paedetrician and he plastered the knee till toe. dr prescribed ibugesic plus 1.5 ml twice a day till the pain alleviates. but the baby cries uncontrollably when the painkillers effect subsides. wanted to know for how many days we should continue painkiller? are there any long term side effects? is there any safer alternative for it? in how many days will the pain subside? we are very worried as he still feels too much pain (cries very loudly) after 3 days..

Hello,

Fracture will heal very fast and effectively in kids. You can give Paracetamol syrup according to body weight for pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
