How Can A Perforated Ear Drum Causing Pain Be Treated?

i am 21 year old,my weight is 52 and i suffered in left ear paining for last 3 months and i suggested a doctor.He told there is a hole in your ear drum and he gave some medicines and ear drops .but after 2 weeks it again started paining and i consult same doctor again he gave medicines and after 2 weeks it started that means now i have a pain in the same ear what i want to do? surgery is need for me?

Hi,

As per your query you have symptoms of perforated eardrum causing pain. Need not to worry. I would suggest you consult an ENT specialist for proper checkup and treatment. The doctor will examine the ear with an otoscope and rule out causes like a wax buildup. The doctor may prescribe antibiotics (amoxicillin) along with anti-inflammatory drugs. For now, keep your ears dry and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain. If the condition is not able to get restored conservatively then the doctor may proceed with the surgical method.
