How Can A Pulled Muscle In The Hips Be Treated?

Hello. After exercising for about 30 minutes I was doing stretches. I tried to do a forward split and was surprised at how low I could get, so I pushed myself down a little more and heard a pop in my hip of the leg that was out in front of me. I was able to walk, to go up the stairs, etc., but was very careful about doing so. I put ice on the back of my leg, have it elevated and tied a band around it. Is this a hamstring pull? I will go to a doctor tomorrow.

Hello,

Yes, it could be hamstring muscles injury or the ligament might have torn while you doing that act. Now it takes some time to get better it will heal on its own if you don't supplement with medication also. If there is any swelling and more pain then you take any analgesic which will reduce your pain. Any analgesic like diclofenac, tramadol, would be of help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
