How Can A Stye In The Eye Be Treated?

I had a stye on my eye by my tear duct that popped. then I got the same thing on top of my cheek bone. I put a bandaid on it and it festered and popped. I cleaned it with soap and water and when I woke this morning I now have four little pus pockets around the one on my cheek.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
Styes typically don't cause vision problems.
Your ability to see well at either near or distance shouldn't be affected by a stye.
A stye is caused by staphylococcal bacteria.
Some advices that I can give to you are;:
-Keep your eyes and hands clean, and don't share pillowcases, bedsheets, washcloths or towels with others.
-You can encourage this process by applying hot compresses for 10 to 15 minutes, three or four times a day, over the course of several days.
-You shouldn't pop a style like you would a pimple. Allow the stye to rupture on its own.
-If you have frequent styes, your eye doctor may want to prescribe an antibiotic ointment to prevent a recurrence.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
