How Can A Thorn Prick Wound On The Finger Be Treated?
Whilst gardening, I got a small tip of a thorn in the top of my middle finger. I tried to remove it, but it was too deep. The puncture wound healed over, but since, my finger is tender to touch and red. This happened a week ago. I ve tried soaking it in hot salted water, and savlon, but to no avail Please advise
Hello thank you for writing us here. Well, a thorn could be removed (if still present in your finger) using local anesthesia and forceps. You can consult your doctor to do this because it would be safe. Also if the thorn doesn't comes out by itself, it Would cause infection. But don't worry it would come out slowly in 3 to 4 weeks and it won't hurt anymore. God bless you
Best regards, Dr Gunjan
