How Can A Wasp Bite On The Right Ankle Be Treated?

My daughter was stung by a wasp on her right ankle just above the bone. A pink circle is visible with a whitish spot in the center. Using tweezers it felt that a stinger was removed, but not sure. There is swelling mostly below the sting. The bite is becoming more painful. We have applied antibiotic ointment and an ice pack. How can we alleviate the pain? Could the bite become infected?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You can consider giving her an anti inflammatory pain killer and an anti histamine.
Both of these should help to reduce her symptoms.

Eg of anti inflammatory pain killers are--- ibuprofen, cataflam. Both of these have pediatric formulations.

Antihistamines would be over the counter.

I hope this helps
