How Can A Weakened Heart With Only 20% Functionality Be Improved?
hello doctor, my brother-in-law is abt 44 yrs old. he had a severe heart-attach before 10 years. At that time coz of puching his heart, his hear became weak and now it works only 20 %. I would like to know if we can improve this % by any medicine ? is there any other treatment like heart transplant or can change the heart shape from round to normal ?
Nowdays are some medications available for heart failure, such as beta blockers, ACE inhibitors etc. If take them regularly and follow healthy lifestyle they can improve heart function. Actually they are worldwide available, and if you refer to cardiologist, he/she will prescribe those medications. There are some devices for heart failure patients, but they are not indicated to all patients, your doctor should evaluate your brother to see if the device is indicated to him. Heart transplant is indicated only in very severe cases, if heart can't function itself and no other medication and device helps.
Hope I could help you
