Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, about a week ago I was opened a can of peas and i cut my knuckle on my middle finger. It wasn t very big but wouldn t stop bleeding. I cleaned it and put a bandaid over it. Since then I have been cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide. Now I can see the cut is healing and closing, however, my finger is stolen on the knuckle and my finger is redish-purple and itchy. Can you please tell me what I should do? Thank you.
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM I have read and understood your concern It is normal for your finger to be swollen as you describe after a cut.Itching may just be due to wound healing. It is just a normal tissue response to a cut.Since the wound is healing, i will advise you continue with anti-septic cleaning. You may add a pain/anti-inflammatory drug like tylenol for pain and swelling. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns Best regards
