Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Acid Reflux, Heartburn, Esophagus Fullness And Chest Pain Be Treated?
For a few months I've been experiencing what I think is heartburn/acid reflux. I think it may be connected to a problem I seem to be having with my esophagus. I just had lunch with chicken and rice, not a large portion. Several times I have felt suddenly that the esophagus is full and there's a pain in the center of my chest. The food feels stuck and nothing else will go down without pain. It always happens with rice. At night, I can't sleep on my stomach anymore because of reflux. I'm worried that there's problem with the esophagus. Thank you!
You have to avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking and caffeine drinks.
Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week, small amount of meals with increased frequency, raise head end of bed during sleep. Take time to sleep after dinner.
Use tablet Nexium before breakfast for one week. If symptoms not improved, then please consult your doctor so that he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
