How Can Age Spots On The Forehead Be Treated?

I have had a couple age spots on my forehead at the hairline. They have been flat to the surface and have not given me any pain. Over the last few weeks they have developed a rough surface over the age spot. I m wondering if that could be a symptom of something more involved.
