How Can Allergic Spider Bite On The Leg Be Treated?

My husband was bitten by a spider we think, in three places on his leg six months ago. One spot has swelled again about the size of a dime. It was itchy and is swelled to the size of a dime. He put alcohol on it and the knot has softened. All three bites have left pock marks.

Hi,

As per your query you have symptoms of an allergic spider bite on the leg which seems to be due to infection by the sting of bite venom.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you apply little pressure on that area with cotton dipped in warm water to ooze out the pus properly.

Apply betadine over the area and clean that area properly with an antimicrobial agent. Use of corticosteroid ointment is helpful. Take antibiotics orally to prevent further infection. Use calamine lotion on that to resolve itchiness.

Visit dermatologist once to find out any hidden cause for your symptoms and get your other medical treatments postponed if it's not a medical emergency.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
