How Can An MRI Scan Report Be Interpreted For Further Prognosis?
Hi Doctor, today my son got the following MRI Impression: IMPRESSION: 1. Asymmetric prominence of the right lateral ventricle, which appears to be pushing the cavum septum to the left of midline, possibly with pressure. 2. There appears to be a polypoid lesion in the posterior aspect of the right frontal horn measuring approximately 2 cm in diameter that could represent a papilloma causing excess CSF production causing this finding. The occipital horns of the lateral ventricles are symmetric. This is just involving the frontal horn region for the most part. The rest of the ventricles are symmetric to the midline. Clinical correlation is suggested. Contrast enhancement might be helpful for further evaluation. 3. There are no other abnormalities noted.
You may having polyp in the lateral ventricle.
Possible causes are like ependymomas, astrocytomas, subependymomas, choroid plexus papillomas and meningiomas.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. if you're feeling raised intracranial pressure feeling, nausea or Vomiting then take tablet Dimox twice a day for five days. They may need surgical excision. please consult your neurosurgeon he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
