Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had surgery for a trigger figure. After the surgery the wound got infected requiring addition surgery to lavage puss from the ligaments in my figure. I am currently in PT to release adhesions that are preventing me from closing a fist. I ve been in PT for several weeks with minor improvement. What is the prognosis for conditions like this? What other treatments are available? Would a more aggressive PT program help resolve this condition?
I read your query and I understand your concern. I think you should be taking antibiotics orally and a wound drainage. I would recommend Ceftriaxone 1 gr injection daily, for 7 days. Your doctor will evaluate your condition.
Hope this clarifies your concern. If yes vote helpful.
Thank you for the query.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
