Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On Sept 29 2017 I had left hand carpal tunnel surgery and left hand ring finger surgery for trigger finger. Stitches at 6 days were removed yet the incisions were still to open. The Dr assistant using a wrong instrument, digging deep into both incisions removed the stitches. Pain was extreme. Hand became swollen and infected. A thick, white solid cyst or tumor appeared at the ring finger incision. Dr has pushed a large needle through and into the cyst to obtain fluid. None appeared. What do you suggest to be done next. Thank you for your help Marge from NJ PS — I just saw there is a charge not able to do at this time. Thank you

How Can An Infected Surgical Wound Be Treated?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Have you taken a course of antibiotic treatment yet. It could be that you have a hematoma at the site that is getting infected. You could undergo an ultrasound at the local site and a fluid examination from the site. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
