How Can An Infection On The Lower Leg Be Treated?

I ve been treated by a doctor for a infection in my lower leg I was put on a IV of antibiotics and given a perscription for antibiotic to take for 10 days and was told to keep my leg elevated when I do so for say 30 minutes when I get up it feels like blood is running down inside my leg and I can t walk for a couple of minute is this normal? Or is there any thing I can try to alleviate this problem?

this is normal that you cant walk for a couple minutes after elevate your leg in 30 minutes. This happens because the blood flow from the heart cant reach your leg and makes your leg will feel numb.
After several minutes it will be normal.
