Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Siddartha's Response
Hello,
Escitalopram is not a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). It is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors used for the treatment of depression. Apart from antihistamines, you have to take antibiotics also for respiratory tract infection. But for you, there will be drug interactions between Escitalopram and antihistamines. Please consult your general physician for more suggestions and treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Siddartha
