Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 78 year old female in excellent health except for severe arthritis of the right knee. Had an injection of Visco- supplementation 3 days ago. It is helping somewhat. The orthopedic doctor said I need to have a knee replacement. At this point in time I am trying to educate myself regarding this matter. Should I have a knee replacement or wait until the knee gets worse, however long that will take.

How Can Arthritis In The Right Knee Be Treated?
Hi, Knee replacement might be the best option for you. You can try analgesics like Tramadol for pain relief. If symptoms persist, better to go for knee replacement which can provide pain relief and you can also walk after surgery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
