Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Autism Along With Anxiety And Aggressive Behaviour Be Treated?
I am the parent of an 18 year old daughter with Autism. She has pragmatic language challenges and anxiety, that often (2-3x per week) cause her to become frustrated resulting in loss of temper, yelling and throwing things. We are considering putting her on Zolof. I am concerned the drug will make her emotionally numb or have other severe side-effects. Is Zolof safe?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Zolof is having Zolpidem. It is newer anxiolytic drug which is having less dependence and less side effects. So no need to worry for side effects off Zolof. In my opinion, along with Zolof, she should also consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in her life and start working on its solutions. Don't worry, she will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your daughter. Thanks.
