How Can Blood Sugar Levels Be Kept Under Control?

I am having issues with my insulin not bringing down my BS. I take concentrated insulin & take the max amount of metformin, but I still have trouble with keeping my A1C & BS under control. When I take my BS in the am when I first get up, before I eat, it is much higher than when I went to bed the night before (and it is not due to snacking in the evening). I am also having trouble with gaining weight even though I watch what I eat & feel it is associated with the high dose/concentration of insulin I am taking. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The insulin units should be increased and response should be seen accordingly. If you had mentioned the number of units of insulin you are taking, then it would have been easy to assist you further.

Wishing you best of health.

Thanks.
