General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The blurred vision after laser surgery for tear in retina, the surgery aims to seal the torn edges of retina to prevent leaking of vitreous humor & lead to retinal detachment (a severe complication).
The surgery does not deal with floaters/flashes &they resolve over the time. These can cause blurred vision. Though bending does not cause any harm postoperatively.
You should have a good vision before you join your duty. It is risky to join if the vision is not yet clear. Please consult your operating surgeon & get your medical leave extended.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
