Upper respiratory infections can be due to bacterial or viral infections. As you were complaining of sore throat and difficult breathing, the most probable cause might be viral infection.
You have to go for the following investigations:
1. Complete blood picture 2. X-ray chest
As there is no specific treatment for viral infections, only symptomatic treatment is preferred such as:
1. Take rest for more time 2. Drink plenty of water 3. Take vitamin tablets
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vamsi Krishna Chittimoju
