Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been diagnosed with mild bronchiectasis in my right upper lung. I am a 72 year old female in good health otherwise. I will have coughing spells two or three times a year that can last for several weeks or sometimes a month and usually end up taking an antibiotic. I do not have shortness of breath. I walk two plus miles a day 5 or 6 times a week. I was once prescribed Serevent Diskus and the last time Flovent. I have not been officially diagnosed with asthma. Which of these medicines do you think is the best one given the above information.
Best medicine here is bronchi dilator as Terbutaline or Deriphyline with steroid on as and when required basis. Thorough immunity built up should be the prime concern, once the acute phase is treated with antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
