Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have tissue build up in the palm of my hand under the skin and around a tendon. Very callus like and feels as though the toughened skin envelopes the tendons. The area involved goes from the base of my little finger to an area about 2 inches long. It is on my dominate right hand. I do not have full range of motion of the little finger. Is this something that will continue to worsen?
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern. Some advices that I can give to you are : -use moleskin pads but be careful to position properly -Moisturizing creams may help soften the skin and remove cracked calluses. Apply the moisturizing cream to the callus and cover the area overnighto. -Use a pumice stone first to rub off the dead skin from a callus after a bath or shower and then applying moisturizing cream can also be effective. -Oral antibiotics are used if there is an infection. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
