Hi,good day. I recently had a my blood chem checked and Found out that my sgpt level is 3x than normal. My cholesterol is also very high. Other results were normal or within range. My I ask what foods Im gonna take and what s not to control and lower these readings. Im 39 years old. Thank you very much.Kind reards,Al Nombre
Have you visited your doctor with the test results? If not then I suggest you pay a visit so that if there is a need for any medicines to control the levels, your doctor can advise you so. Usually, the cholesterol levels can be easily lowered with an appropriate diet containing no trans fat and with regular exercise.
I would suggest you include less of things like cheese, butter in your diet. Food that contains starch like potatoes should be avoided as well as fast food plays an important role in increasing bad cholesterol levels in the body. Green leafy vegetables are always a good source of nutrition so include it more in your diet. I suggest you see a dietician and follow her advice which will help effectively in bringing the lipid profile to normal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
