Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor !! I am 22 years old guy. i works in a it firm, so most of time i have to sit on a chair and do my job. from last 2 months i have a heavy back pain. initially it was for some instant but now i face this on regular basis. Need your advice. Thanks!!
Sitting for a prolonged time can affect you back and cause chronic problems with back pain. You will need to make sure your posture is right while you work if you work with a computer make sure you apply proper rules of posture and position related to the distance of the table, height, and computer position that are healthy and prevent bad posture.
Make sure you take regular small breaks during work to move around and stretch your muscles.
Seeing a physiotherapist can help you with proper advice on computer work hygiene and also might give you specific exercises to help with posture and back pain.
Use of paracetamol with ibuprofen might help with the pain but does not cure it so you will need to have a visit with the physiotherapist as well.
If the physiotherapist sees it needed he might also refer you to a doctor, and it is good for you to see a doctor if the pain is not improving with the above measures or is getting any worse.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
