How Can Chronic Itching On The Body Be Treated?

I have severe itching to the point I draw blood. I have seen two dermatologists. The first put me on permithren , two rounds and no improvement. Possible scabies.Went back to same practice and saw a different Doctor after a month and he said it was 100 percent not scabies. Thinks it has to do with arthritis of the spine. I have no arthritis signs but a dr mentioned signs of arthritis when I had a scan when I broke my leg skiing ten years ago.Had my first light box treatment two days ago and have a schedule to do this 2 times a week. I guess I m scared it is scabies. I have pebbly rash on my neck no blisters.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here are my thoughts.

Scabies can be present in many forms including scaloid type but then can be easily diagnosed by the dermatologist and can be cured by Permethrin. Also needed is cleanliness, killing of the scabies mites in the bed, linen, clothes and so on to avoid recurrence if at all this is scabies.
Surely you can go for another opinion to get a proper diagnosis so that a proper management can be done.
There are many types of Dermatitis hence a proper clinical diagnosis supported by Skin biopsy helps.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
