How Can Cold And Ear Infection In An Infant Be Treated?
I had our 1 year old at doctors this morning she has a bad cold and ear infection temp was 37.8 at the time. She had had her first dose of antibiotic And is to the prescribed amount of neurogenic and her temp is now 38.1 one after dose of nurofen. Should I go back to dr or wait a little while longer or go to a hospital?
Hello, When Infection is there, fever is most often seen, as it is the body's defense to fight infection. Antibiotic and Ibuprofen given will control infection and fever respectively. But fever will not immediately go away. You will have to give the prescribed amounts of the antibiotic and ibuprofen to the child, for the recommended period. Unless fever goes very high, there is no need to go to the hospital. Even there too treatment will be same. You should give enough oral fluids to the child, particularly ORS. Thanks
