How Can Color Flow And Spectral Doppler Echocardiography Reports Be Interpreted?

Can you please tell me what this means please? FINDINGS RIGHT: The common femoral, profunda femoral, femoral, popliteal, tibio-peroneal trunk, posterior tibial and peroneal veins are evaluated in their entirety. The common femoral vein and entire femoral vein are partially incompressible with hyperechoic (chronic appearing), non-occluding, intraluminal echoes. Complete vein wall compressions are obtained throughout the remaining deep veins with no evidence of intraluminal echoes. Color flow and spectral Doppler demonstrate damp flow with responses to augmentation maneuvers. Representative waveforms are obtained from the common femoral, femoral and popliteal veins. LEFT: Comparable, spontaneous and phasic spectral Doppler flow signals are obtained from the proximal common femoral vein. IMPRESSION: 1)RIGHT COMMON FEMORAL AND FEMORAL DEEP VENOUS THROMBOSIS; APPEARED CHRONIC AND NON-OCCLUSIVE.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

What do you want to interpret? It has been given in report only that you're having deep vein thrombosis of the right leg.

It is not completely obstructed. Still flow is there. you may have to start low molecular haparin at early stages then later you may take warfarin to maintain INR 2-3.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
