How Can Constipation And Abdominal Pain Due To Anorexia Nervosa Be Treated?
Hi there. My daughter is suffering with anorexia nervosa. Today she has ate some but she is complaining of her stomache hurting and she is constipated and when she does have a bit of stool come out, its diarea. and the stool that did come out had blood in it. She is 16 and has been hospitolized for the anorexia and is slipping again. should i take her to the er

I understand that you are worried about your daughter's bowel problems. Now, bowel problems are indeed very common with anorexia and it often due to poor and unhealthy diet.
I would suggest that you increase the amount of fibre in her diet. So, you can give her more of salads and whole grain cereals. I would also recommend that she takes plenty of water to avoid constipation.
Regarding the blood in stools, this could be due to an anal fissure because of the constipation. However, if she is having this repeatedly, it is better to report this to her doctor so that she can have a proper ,medical examination.
