How Can Constipation And Painful Hemorrhoids Be Treated?
Pay husband has had constipation from an antibiotic and his hemeroids are causing him significant pain. He is cramping every 15min or so and has to sit on the toilet. He sits in the tub with water for relief but when he gets out his hemeroids drop back out. This is day 3of his misery. Should he see a doctor?

Hemorrhoids also are known as piles are inflamed and swollen veins that are formed when there is continuous irritation of the veins present in the rectum area and inflammation can lead to pain and bleeding during bowel evacuation. Constipation is one of the most common cause for causing migration of piles. Consult proctologist and get evaluated and clinical evaluation and anoscopy [if needed] can be done for diagnosis.
-Application of steroid and numbing ointment.
-Sitz bath that is sitting in a warm water tub especially after bowels.
-High fiber diet along with laxatives like polyethylene glycol and stool softeners like Docusate to maintain proper bowels.
-Avoid spicy food and drink plenty of water.
-In case of no improvement with medical treatment, you can be advised surgical procedures like rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy or hemorrhoidectomy that is surgical removal of the hemorrhoids.
