How Can Cough Be Treated?

My 11mth old DS has cough from last evening. Gets worse during nights. Paes has prescribed mucolite drops, gave 0.5ml in the noon, 0.5ml at around 8.30pm and again by 12.10am gave 0.25ml as he keeps waking up due to cough. It s looks like dry cough to me. How long does it take for the medicine to start showing results

hi mam/sir,being a doctor,i still have the same experience with my kid.dont worry everything will be fine soon.it appears to be dry cough but is not so as <3yr old kids wont be able to cough the sputum out.i tried bronchodilator(salbutamol)with mucolytic (ambroxol) combination for my kid which worked and she got rid of her cough.also please protect your baby with a cap from cold.for kids <1yr, 1.5ml of syrup can be given.just check if baby has fever or any rash.if everything is normal,no need of any antibiotic.cough gets relived in 2-3 days.i wish your kid gets well soon and regain his vigour.any other health issues,kindly write to me.i'm happy to guide you.thank you.take care.bye.
