How Can Discoloration Due To Keratosis Be Dealt With?

I've had keratosis - also known as KP - on my arms since i was about 12 or 13 (I'm now 19) and was wondering if there is anything I can do/use to get rid of the discolored look. My arms are practically clear of all bumps, but they left behind slightly darker spots that I wouldn't mind loosing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
