Hi,
If I was your treating doctor for this condition, I would have come up with the following possibilities.
1. The first possibility is improper union of the bone as there was a
fracture with displacement. This can be evaluated by an X-ray of wrist joint. If it is so then a surgical intervention would be necessary.
2. The second possibility is
Tendinosis which again can be evaluated physically with Finkelstein test. If this is the condition then I would suggest to make it immobilized with a crepe bandage and splints to give it sufficient amount of rest. It can be treated effectively with medication.
3. The third possibility is the complication of fractures namely
osteomyelitis which is a serious problem. Usually this is accompanied by
fever.
This can be assessed by X-ray which will relieve the damage to the bone. An MRI is more precise as it gives of bones and soft tissues.
I suggest you to consult an Orthopedic at the earliest and get an MRI done to rule out serious conditions like Osteomyelitis and
malunion of bones.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
