How Can Dry Gangrene On The Middle Finger Be Treated?

Hi, i have dry gangrene in my middle finger from lack of blood flow, i have raynaurds aand scleraderma, and sjogens, this started on December 18, my doctor started me on Amlodephine and Pentoxiphline. my concern is I m on computer at work and have pains in my hand I guess from typing, I thought it would have fallen off by now, how long does it typically take for it to fall off and heal?Do I have to wait until the nail grows totally out, it has the black area and white crusty area around it, it itches,so I guess it is healing right, I wear a glove most the time, because it does get cold and looks bad.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have to definitely wear a glove to prevent further cold-induced injury and that itching is a sign of healing. So take treatment properly and wait to make sure it's not increasing or worsening. If you feel that go to the doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
