Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The treatment you are on is perfect for elevated cholesterol level. However, Lipitor drug is known to cause muscle soreness and pain.

Other suggested drug Crestor is also from the same group of which Lipitor drug is coming. However, due to some pharmacokinetic profile change, an adverse effect may be more or less. So, you can try Crestor medicine to avoid muscle cramps.

Other non-pharmacological advice is to have low fatty food consumption which can increase triglycerides and bad cholesterol.

Start walking and exercise as muscle movements increase, it will turn down the bad cholesterol and form the HDL (good cholesterol).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
