How Can Elevated Cholesterol Levels Be Treated?

Just had blood work done Everything was just fine but my cholesterol was 244 and I not the best in watching what I eat but I don t eat fast foods and salt don t USA. I really try to watch what I eat cause I got a fine. I had a buckled agree test 7months ago and everything they said looked good. My series was good no blockages I m 60 years old but always work out and not the best but really watch what I eat.

You have to do the right cholesterol tests which assesses the particle size of LDL Cholesterol which will tell you whether you have the small dense particle which is dangerous when compered to the large fluffy particle size.
it is called the NMR LIPID Test offered by LAB CORPORATION or the cardio IQtest offered by Quest diagnostics.
dietary advice includes
Try oil free cooking if it is not possible avoid Omega 6 rich oils like canola , safflower , sunflower oil
Eat a plant based diet
Add Flax Seeds to your diet.
Eat apples , oats , brown rice and handful of nuts ,veggies and fruits
Maintain healthy weight and keep waist circumference below 40 inches for men and 35 inches for women
Exercise daily for 30 minutes .Stop smoking ,Cut down alcohol
restrict calories from refined sugars ,candies , sweeties,high fructose corn syrup
Cut down dairy milk which is saturated fat.
eat atleast 1 cup of beans daily.
Increase intake of omega 3 fatty acids.
If you follow all these advices your cholesterol will become normal and you can avoid medications which have serious side effects .
